Travis Etienne Jr. Fantasy Outlook 2026: RB10 Finish Hiding A Five-Bust Season

What the RB10 finish looked like week to week

Travis Etienne Jr. averaged 14.9 PPR points per game in 2025 and finished tenth at his position. That summary describes consistent production. The actual season was nothing like that.

He posted five games under ten points, including a Week 18 floor of 4.8. Three weeks cleared twenty points, with a ceiling of 31.5 in Week 15. His standard deviation of 6.7 ranked among the highest of any running back who played a full season, which means the season average hides more variance than it explains.

He finished RB10, but five games under ten points and a standard deviation of 6.7 mean the season average hides more variance than it explains.

How sportsbooks got him wrong

Books posted a rushing-yards line of 505.5 before last season, pricing Etienne as a passing-down specialist who would cede early-down work to Tank Bigsby. He finished with 1,107 rushing yards, beating the line by 601. They also had him at 3.26 rushing touchdowns; he scored seven.

The projection for 2026 starts from a corrected baseline: 800 rushing yards and 4.5 rushing touchdowns. But he is no longer in Jacksonville. He now plays in New Orleans alongside Alvin Kamara, and our 192.0 implied points assume a touch distribution we do not yet have evidence for.

Where the gap against ESPN comes from

ESPN has Etienne at 35 overall. Our board has him 43, a gap of 8 picks. ADP sits at 79.4, closer to ESPN than to us.

The case for ESPN's number: he has three top-15 finishes across four seasons, he has caught 35-plus passes in each of those years, and last season proved he can handle a full workload. The case for our number: the backfield is new, the offense is unproven, and the projection rests on modeling rather than clarity about how touches split between him and Kamara.
