Jaxon Smith-Njigba Fantasy Outlook 2026: The WR2 Finish Everyone Missed

Why three sources agree within a pick

Our board has Jaxon Smith-Njigba 7 overall and WR4 at his position with 285.0 implied PPR points. ESPN ranks him 6. Drafters take him at 5.3. That kind of tight clustering is rare, and it happens here because the 2025 season removed all the usual ambiguity.

A year ago the market had him 18th among receivers. Our board had him 33rd overall. He finished WR2 and seventh overall with 359.9 fantasy points across 17 games, beating his posted receiving yards line by 817.5 yards and his touchdown line by 4.5 scores. That is not a projection miss at the margin — it is a different player than anyone priced.

The numbers that drive the current agreement are target share and weekly consistency. He commanded 36% of Seattle's targets, led the league in receptions with 119, and posted at least 13 PPR points in 16 of his 17 games. Only one week came in under 10 points. Ten weeks cleared 20. The profile is elite-volume receiver with a floor you can draft around.

A 36% target share on a pass-first offense is not a fluke. It is what happens when a receiver is clearly the best option and the coaching staff stops pretending otherwise.

Why the WR2 finish did not move his draft price

The agreement on Smith-Njigba is agreement that last season was real. It does not resolve whether a 1,793-yard season on a Seattle offense is the ceiling or the median outcome going forward.

He is posted this year at 1,325 receiving yards and 8.5 touchdowns on 101.5 receptions. All three numbers are down from what he actually did in 2025, which means the market believes some regression is coming. The touchdown line dropping from 10 to 8.5 is the most defensible part of that — touchdown rates fluctuate and his was high. The yardage line is harder to explain unless you think the target share contracts.
