De'Von Achane Fantasy Outlook 2026: RB5 Finish In Back-To-Back Seasons

Why the consensus formed where it did

Our sportsbook-derived board ranks De'Von Achane 16 overall with 236.0 implied PPR points. ESPN has him 12 and the draft room takes him at 44.7. That kind of alignment happens when a player has done the same thing twice and the market believes he will do it again.

He finished RB5 in 2025 with 322.8 fantasy points and 20.2 per game across 16 games. He finished RB5 the year before that. Last season he posted 1,350 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 67 receptions, 488 receiving yards, and four receiving scores. The sportsbooks had him at 875.5 rushing yards and 7.0 rushing touchdowns going into the season, which means the market underpriced his rushing production by nearly 500 yards.

The efficiency is not a sample-size fluke. Since entering the league in 2023, he leads all qualified running backs at 5.7 yards per carry. He has commanded 55% of Miami's rush attempts and ranked top-five among backs in both targets and receiving yards in each of the past two seasons.

He has led all qualified backs at 5.7 yards per carry since 2023, and the market still projects him closer to what he was supposed to do than what he did.

What makes the floor higher than the ranking suggests

Achane played 16 games last season and posted zero bust weeks — not a single game under 10 PPR points. His worst week was 12.8 in Week 7. His best was 40.5 in Week 10. Five of his 16 games cleared 20 points, and the standard deviation of 6.8 points per game is lower than most backs drafted in his range.

That consistency exists because he is involved in the passing game at a rate that removes game-script risk. He caught 67 passes last season against a posted line of 71.38, and over two years he has ranked top-five among running backs in receiving yards. When Miami trails, he stays on the field. When they lead, he handles the bulk of the carries.
