Christian Watson Fantasy Outlook 2026: The Ceiling Game With A Seven-Point Floor

What the season average hides

Christian Watson averaged 13.2 PPR points per game in 2025, which sounds like a middling flex option until you see how those ten games actually broke. Three weeks cleared 20 points. Five came in under 10. His best game posted 24.9 points in Week 14 and his worst delivered 3.7 in Week 16, a seven-to-one ratio that makes the seasonal average nearly meaningless as a week-to-week forecast.

His standard deviation of 7.3 points was among the highest at the position. Watson runs deep routes in an offense that does not force-feed any single receiver, and when the deep ball connects he wins your week. When it does not, he disappears.

The sportsbooks have posted a 50.5-catch, 775-yard, 6.5-touchdown line for 2026, which converts to 170.0 implied points. That projection lands him 75 overall, 26 spots ahead of where drafters are taking him at 63.6. The gap exists because the market sees upside the draft room is not pricing in, but the upside comes with a floor you need to be able to survive.

Three weeks over 20 points and five under 10 across ten games — the weekly spread matters more than the seasonal average, and only certain rosters can absorb that ride.

The three-year pattern that has not changed

Watson has finished between 611 and 620 receiving yards in three of his four NFL seasons, never playing a full schedule in any of them. He has also ranked second in yards per reception and average depth of target in each of the last two years, which means the efficiency has been elite even when the volume has not.

Last season he caught 29 passes for 620 yards and two touchdowns across ten games. The year before that, 28 catches for 611 yards and five touchdowns. The touchdown variance is real, but the yardage and catch totals are nearly identical, and both came on fewer than 50 targets.
