Alec Pierce Fantasy Outlook 2026: Deep Threat Moving Into the WR1 Chair
Pierce doubled his posted yardage line and tripled his touchdown prop last season, and now Michael Pittman is gone. Our board has him 64 overall against an ADP of 140.6.
The disagreement, stated plainly
Our board ranks Alec Pierce 64 overall with 178.0 implied PPR points against an ADP of 140.6. That is a gap of 77 picks, which in a typical draft means roughly two rounds of surplus value.
The gap exists because sportsbooks are pricing him for 926 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 54 receptions, numbers that reflect a complete workload rather than the deep-threat role he has played for four years. The draft room has not caught up.
The caveat matters: our confidence rating is low because the posted market on Pierce is thin. One receiving yards prop does not give you the same clarity as a full slate of lines.
No one in the modern NFL sustains 21 yards per reception on 100-plus targets. If Pierce sees a full workload, the efficiency has to come down.
What he did last season, and what the market expected
Pierce finished WR27 in 2025 with 1,003 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 47 receptions across 15 games. Sportsbooks had him at 522.5 receiving yards and 2.5 touchdowns going into the season. He beat the yardage line by 481 yards and the touchdown line by 3.5 scores.
His 21.3 yards per reception led all qualifying receivers for the second straight year, a rate that turned 47 catches into 1,003 yards. The problem with that profile: only two of his 15 games cleared 20 PPR points, and six came in under 10.
Why the projection jumps from WR27 to borderline WR2
Michael Pittman is no longer on the roster. That removes 102 targets and opens the outside receiver role opposite Josh Downs, who operates almost exclusively from the slot. Indianapolis threw the ball 615 times last season, fifth-most in the league.
