Why Playoffs Are Different
In our experience, the playoffs are the best time to make money. The games carry more weight, the narratives are stronger, the public reacts harder, and desperation enters the picture. All of that creates more exploitable situations than the regular season.
Playoff systems tend to perform the best of any systems we run. The conditions are more consistent, the motivation is real, and the spots repeat in recognizable ways: a team down in a series, a team coming off a blowout, a rematch with obvious adjustments to be made.
This is also why a smaller playoff sample can carry more weight than a larger regular-season one. The games are more alike, the stakes are uniform, and the behavior is more predictable. Size still matters, but playoff context can make a modest sample meaningful.

Playoff Market Overreaction
The single biggest playoff edge is fading overreaction. The public lets one game rewrite the entire story of a series. A team that got dominated is suddenly written off, and a team that looked unstoppable is treated as a lock going forward.
But one game does not define the next, and the books know exactly what the public wants after a big result. That is when the obvious side becomes the dangerous side, and the inflated number on the popular team becomes the opportunity.
Adjustments are real in playoff series. Coaches change schemes, rotations tighten, and matchups get countered. The market often prices the last game; the edge is in pricing the next one.
